What if I don't know who I am?

That's precisely the problem IDENT was built to solve. Our identity resolution engine queries the kernel's effective UID namespace and returns a deterministic, authoritative answer. Self-doubt is a human problem. IDENT operates at the systems level, where identity is a resolved fact, not a philosophical question.

How is this different from just checking my username?

IDENT doesn't "check your username." It resolves your effective user identity in the context of the current process session, accounting for privilege escalation, setuid contexts, and cross-session state. The difference between IDENT and "checking your username" is the difference between a GPS satellite and looking out the window.

Is my identity data secure?

Your identity never leaves your machine. IDENT resolves locally, with zero network calls, zero telemetry, and zero data exfiltration. We don't store, transmit, or even see your identity. It's the most private identity platform ever built — because it doesn't talk to anyone but you.

Can IDENT handle multiple identities?
