Vantage is the storage observability platform that gives you real-time, human-readable insight into every filesystem, volume, and mount point across your entire infrastructure. Zero blind spots.
Works seamlessly with your stack
Every feature maps to a real metric. Every metric drives a decision. Every decision compounds.
Raw byte counts are for machines. The -h engine automatically converts storage
metrics into powers of 1024 โ displaying GiB, MiB, and TiB so your team can actually parse what
they're seeing.
vantage -hNeed metrics that match your vendor invoices? Activate -H to switch to
powers-of-1000 SI units. GB, MB, TB โ the same numbers your cloud provider uses, finally in your
dashboard.
vantage -HKnow exactly what you're running on. The -T flag surfaces filesystem type metadata
for every mount โ ext4, xfs, btrfs, tmpfs, nfs โ so you can audit heterogeneous infrastructure
in seconds.
vantage -TDisk space isn't the only thing that runs out. With -i, Vantage reports inode usage
โ total, used, available, and percentage โ catching the silent killer before it takes down
production.
vantage -iMost tools hide pseudo, duplicate, and inaccessible filesystems. Not Vantage. Enable
-a to see every single mount point โ including the ones your team didn't know
existed.
vantage -aRemote mounts add noise. The -l filter strips out all network filesystems, giving
you a clean view of local-only storage. Perfect for compliance audits and bare-metal
deployments.
vantage -lOne number to rule them all. The --total flag appends a computed grand total row โ
total capacity, total used, total available โ across every filesystem in scope. Your north star
metric, instantly.
vantage --totalBuild exactly the report you need. The --output flag lets you select from source,
fstype, size, used, avail, pcent, target, and inode columns โ a fully composable output schema.
vantage --output=source,size,used,avail,pcentNo agents. No sidecars. No 40-page runbook. Just storage truth.
Vantage enumerates every currently mounted filesystem in real time. Local volumes, network shares, pseudo mounts โ nothing is missed.
Each filesystem is queried for size, used space, available space, percentage full, and filesystem type. Inode metrics are gathered in parallel.
Raw data is converted to human-readable units, filtered by your chosen criteria, and structured into your custom column schema โ or the industry-standard POSIX output format.
Results are rendered to stdout in milliseconds. Pipe it, log it, alert on it. Every byte of output is deterministic, scriptable, and pipeline-ready.
Watch the global Vantage network process billions of storage queries.

-a)"We were running blind on inode consumption. Vantage's -i
flag caught an inode exhaustion event that would have taken down our entire Kubernetes cluster.
This is the storage observability tool we've been building internally for three years โ except
it actually works."
"The --output custom column builder alone saved us from
building a janky internal tool. We pipe Vantage output directly into our alerting pipeline. It's
the single source of truth for storage across 400+ nodes."
"I used to SSH into every server and check storage manually. Vantage's
--total gives me one number โ total used, total available โ across my entire fleet.
I literally got promoted because of this tool."
"The -T filesystem fingerprinting uncovered three rogue
ext2 mounts in production that nobody knew about. In a compliance audit. During SOC 2. Vantage
paid for itself in that single scan."
Vantage supports every currently mounted filesystem โ ext2, ext3, ext4, xfs, btrfs, zfs, nfs,
cifs, tmpfs, devtmpfs, overlay, and more. If it's mounted, Vantage sees it. Use the
-T flag to identify types, or filter with -t and -x to
focus on what matters.
Manual checks give you a snapshot. Vantage gives you a complete, structured, pipeline-ready report across every volume in your infrastructure โ with human-readable units, custom column schemas, inode analytics, and grand total aggregation. It's the difference between glancing at a gauge and having a full observability platform.
Absolutely. By default, Vantage reports on all mounted filesystems, including NFS, CIFS, and
other network mounts. If you need to focus on local storage only, the -l flag
filters out everything remote.
The -h flag uses binary units (powers of 1024: KiB, MiB, GiB), while -H
uses SI decimal units (powers of 1000: KB, MB, GB). Use -h for technical accuracy;
use -H when you need numbers that match your cloud provider's billing dashboard.
Vantage operates entirely within your infrastructure. It reads filesystem metadata only โ never your actual files. No data leaves your perimeter. No telemetry. No call-home. Your storage topology stays yours.
